First day at work for this winter

I have a night safari, my favourite one. I go to harness the reindeer; I have the pleasure to work with Vode, one of my favourites guys tonight. He gives me that usual look, like asking if I’m really sure I want to come closer. Maximus doesn’t seem to notice me at all when I’m harnessing him. He’s got even bigger antlers this winter, but he’s careful not to hurt me with them. Off we go and I walk first with Vode. He doesn’t want me to walk first and stops every time I try. Well he’s happy to lead us and I’m happy to let him lead us, so I stay behind and sit on his sledge. There are more crossroads than last winter and suddenly I’m not quite sure which one I should take. I’m looking Vode and he looks confident so I let him pick and sit quietly on the sledge. He knows the way. Snowy forest, wind blowing some snow on my face and I’m happy to be working again.
